I was given the opportunity to photograph Ring 3 on the Sunday of the Ekko Equestrian Unaffiliated Dressage Stay Away Show. I still consider myself to be a novice when it comes to dressage, but I seem to have got a few shots that ticked the boxes with the competitors.

Weston Lawns Equestrian Centre, Bulkington, Bedworth, Warks

Weston Lawns Equestrian Centre, located near Coventry, England, is a well-regarded destination for horse enthusiasts. They host over 50 days of equestrian events annually, including dressage, show jumping, and arena eventing. Competitions cater to all levels, from beginners to professionals, and some even offer qualifiers for prestigious events.

The centre boasts two competition arenas with a special Andrews Bowen ProWax surface for optimal performance. Additionally, they have a range of international jumps meeting British Showjumping standards.

Beyond competitions, Weston Lawns offers stabling and livery services. They are known for their friendly atmosphere and aim to provide a welcoming environment for riders, supporters, and their horses.

This wasn’t my first time at Weston Lawns. I’d supported Chloe Alibone’s team at the 2024 Easter Eggstravaganza, which consisted of four days of showjumping action across two arenas.

Ekko Equestrian Unaffiliated Dressage Stay Away Show – 19/05/2024

Sunday 19/05/2024 was a glorious day with barely a cloud in the sky. A brisk breeze ensured the temperature remained pleasant.

The two classes I photographed in The Weston Arena were the Introductory 2008 A (short) sponsored by Equi Travel Safe and the Introductory 2016 C sponsored by Leire Lodge XC.
