Having finally caught up with the processing from last weekend’s activities, I thought now would be a good time to share a tiny selection of the images captured during last week’s Family Photo-shoot Day at Sywell Country Park.

The forecast for the day itself and the weather back up were much of a muchness: essentially overcast all day with the odd chance of a break; not ideal, but it would have to do.

The early-morning drive to Sywell was pretty much per the forecast, except there was a little low-lying mist, too.  But then, as I pulled into the car park, the sun started to emerge from behind it.

As it transpired, the whole day was, more or less, glorious, with hardly a cloud to be seen.  It makes such a refreshing change when the forecasters are wrong and it’s far better than you were expecting!

Over the course of the day, five family groups visited me, and we wandered and played in the leaves, fed the ducks, geese and swans, played in Brock Wood, enjoyed ice creams and, believe it or not, actually sledged down the grass bank from the reservoir – much to the amusement of the other families taking advantage of the glorious conditions.

Everyone seemed to have a good time, and that was reflected in the pictures we came away with, some of which you can find in this post.

My sincere thanks go out to everyone who supported the event and embraced it.

With Christmas approaching at a rate of knots, we are getting towards the stage where you are running out of time if you want to produce photo gifts to give as presents.  I have a wedding to photograph on the 12th of December before I head to the United Arab Emirates to once again provide my services for the air show in Al Ain.  That means that any photo-shoots designed to provide Christmas presents would really need to have taken place by the 7th of December at the latest.

If there’s interest, I’d be happy to run a further family photo-shoot day on the same basis at Sywell Country Park and another at Abington Park, Northampton, before then; they’d be Saturdays with Sundays as the weather back-up.  If you are interested, please let me know.
