PORTFOLIO – Wedding Photography by Karl Drage
On this page you will find just a tiny sample of my work, captured as a wedding photographer across Northamptonshire and surrounding counties. My aim, typically, will be to tell the story of your day, from the bridal preparations through to the cake cutting, first dance and beyond.
-
- A reassuring hug from the bride as the groom makes his wedding speech – by Brackley wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- Not everyone starts off comfortable in front of the camera but that shouldn’t stop you from having lovely wedding photos!
-
- The stunning Lenovia dress supplied by Brides of Corby for our bridal shoot at The Big Barn, Ashley.
-
- Signing the wedding register before your witnesses – by Milton Keynes wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- You might not be able to have as many guests as you would like attend your wedding, but COVID weddings are still beautiful occasions!
-
- Emotions sometimes get the better of people, whatever the reason – by Kettering wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- Having worked at a venue before is not essential, so long as the photographer intends to familiarise themself with the place before the day.
-
- If you’re planning entertainment late into the evening, make sure you ask your photographer if they will still be there.
-
- My final wedding of 2018 saw two of my favourite people get married. The wedding breakfast and evening reception took place at The High Field, Edgbaston.
-
- Preparations start a long time before the wedding day. Make sure you know all the right questions you should ask a wedding photographer before booking them.
-
- I’ve got an extensive collection of photo books from real weddings I’ve shot that you’re welcome to check out.
-
- Making use of the venue’s architecture after the sun has set – by Northamptonshire wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- A loving kiss between husband and wife after a beautiful wedding ceremony in the stunning Baronial Hall at Highgate House, Creaton.
-
- A tender kiss between bride and groom on their wedding day – by Raunds wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- My style is predominantly documentary, but I do love taking couples portraits a couple of times during the wedding day, too.
-
- Time – the most precious commodity of them all. How long should you be waiting to see your wedding pictures?
-
- It might not be Abbey Road, but I still like it! This couple elected to travel to their ceremony together! It was lovely!
-
- Eternity bridal gown with delicate floral lace and a stretch jersey underneath from Elegance by Design
-
- Reflective surfaces make for great wedding photographs, too! This piano top is in the church of St Clement Danes, Central London.
-
- Bridal prep always produces lots of lovely images, and it’s a great opportunity for you to get used to the camera!
-
- With 9 colours available, you have the freedom to choose the colours that best match with your colour palette.
-
- There’s nothing worse than being kept waiting. How long should you expect to wait to receive your wedding photographs?
-
- If your bridal prep location has stairs, a shot of you leaving is essential – by Birmingham wedding photographer Karl Drage.
-
- A tender moment between bride and groom in the gateway to the Walled Garden at Delapre Abbey, Northampton.
-
- A passionate embrace during a wet-weather wedding at Cranford Hall, Northamptonshire – by Kettering wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- Setting sun at a magical fairytale Sedgebrook Hall wedding – by Northants wedding photographer Karl Drage
-
- So long as you fully embrace it, there’s no reason why a COVID-restricted wedding shouldn’t still be amazing.
-
- Smoke grenades make for amazing pictures. Gemma and Dan are seen absolutely smashing it at their Central London wedding

What my clients say:

Lisa & Paul
"Karl is much more than a photographer. He truly sees people and tells a story. Both the formal and the more candid shots were so well taken and edited. The composition of the long shots to capturing the look in someone's eye all taken perfectly. I cannot wait until we have them in our hands. Thank you Karl! You were more than our photographer that day! x"

Claire & Rob
"He turned up on time well dressed and aside the large camera blended right in to our day. Our guests believed he was a family friend. He socialised, took time and patience with our children, and my husband's need to make me laugh. He calmed my worries, picked confetti from my hair and stopped people standing on my dress, all while making us feel at ease and taking incredible pictures. This man made our wedding easy, stress-free and will help us remember it for the rest of our lives. He arrived as our photographer and left as our friend. One of the most heartfelt thank yous I have ever given… Thank you Karl."

Karl has done a fab job , taking pictures at our wedding in August 2017.
Nothing was too much trouble for him, we could only ask and it was done. delivery of the pictures was super fast, we were still on our honeymoon and he has sent a link with a password. he is very friendly and reliable and we would recommend him to anybody. in fact we already have .
thank you very much Karl, you are a star.
