Helena & James were married at All Saints Church, Rushton, Northants, on Sunday, 27th August 2017. After their ceremony, we headed to English Heritage’s Triangular Lodge before the wedding reception at the R Inn, Desborough. I provided my wedding photography services.
Bridal Preparations – Family home, Rushton, Northants
The weather, once again, was perfect for my second wedding of the August Bank Holiday weekend. The temperature was significantly hotter than it had been the previous day.
Helena and her crew were already well underway with their bridal preparations when I arrived. Once again, everyone seemed incredibly relaxed.
James and his clan were all meeting at the Thornhill Arms pub in the village prior to the ceremony, and I caught up with them there briefly.
Wedding Ceremony – All Saints Church, Rushton, Northants
Back with the girls, Helena was now in her dress and almost ready to set off for the church. With it being just a few hundred yards down the road, Helena had decided she was going to walk to the venue. It was one of the most brilliant things I’ve ever seen in my life! She literally walked up the middle of the road, arm in arm with her father, with her wedding party following on behind. The traffic had no option but to stop. For a few short minutes on that Sunday afternoon, Helena was the Queen of Rushton.
The church was full with friends and family members from each side of the wedding party, and the ceremony was conducted in tremendous humour (mainly due to the groom, who just has one of those faces!).
After the ceremony, we did some formal group shots in front of the church and then some of my favourite confetti shots on the way out of the church grounds. Again, the groom’s facial expressions were priceless!
Couples Pictures – Triangular Lodge, Rushton, Northants
During our venue walkarounds a few weeks earlier, we’d stopped off at Triangular Lodge to enquire about the possibility of taking a few couple pics on the way to the reception venue. The awesome people from English Heritage could not have been more helpful in making that happen.
Wedding Reception – The R Inn, Desborough, Northants
Anybody who, like me, watches Channel 4’s Four In A Bed could well have been familiar with Desborough’s R Inn from that programme. This was my first wedding at the two-tiered venue, however.
Without doubt, the most spectacular feature of the large room where the wedding reception took place is the huge Swarovski Crystal chandelier. It really is stunning and sets the room off perfectly!
Outside, there’s a nice paved area with picnic benches, a table tennis table, wooden gazebo and grassed area. There’s also a set of steps on the outside of the building that provide some nice elevation to get a group shot of everyone.
There were speeches, a hilarious slideshow presented by both of James’s best men, live music, and a fab hog roast wedding breakfast.
Helena & James performed their first dance as husband and wife beneath the beautiful chandelier and then cut their wedding cake.
That was the point at which my booking ended, and I left them to enjoy the rest of their day.
Wishing the new Mr & Mrs Binnington happy, healthy and lengthy lives together.
