The Granary at Fawsley Wedding Photography
At the fifth time of asking, Jodie and Nik were finally able to go ahead with their Granary at Fawsley wedding. I was delighted to spend the day with them – my first as a Granary at Fawsley wedding photographer.
Like so many couples, Jodie and Nik’s original wedding plans were scuppered repeatedly by COVID. It had been a really difficult, stressful time for everyone.
The Granary at Fawsley, near Daventry.
The Granary at Fawsley is a beautiful barn wedding venue located in the gorgeous rolling hills of the Northamptonshire countryside near Daventry. The venue offers three different ceremony spaces, with Jodie and Nik choosing the gorgeous oak beams of the Fawsley Suite. There’s also on-site accommodation with a converted stable block of beautiful rooms and a bridal suite.
The Wedding Day Itself – The Granary at Fawsley
It was a lovely morning when I arrived at The Granary for Jodie & Nik’s big day. Preparations were already well underway.
Jodie and her girls were all totally relaxed about the whole thing, and there were some lovely interactions between the bride, her mum and her soon-to-be mother-in-law.
A rather striking BMW had been borrowed for the day.
Meanwhile, the finishing touches were being applied to Jodie.
The Wedding Ceremony – Fawsley Suite – Granary at Fawsley Wedding
Unbeknown to Jodie, her wedding ceremony to Nick would actually be conducted by a relative, which was a lovely personal touch.
The couple’s son rather stole the show!
Couple Shots
After the group shots, Jodie & Nick made sure they got lots of shots with their son, before I whisked them away to the lake down by Fawsley Hall itself.
…..and then it started to rain quite hard, so we dived back in the car and back to The Granary for the wedding breakfast.

Speeches were very well received, and little Oliver was once again determined to get in on the action!
Evening Reception
The newlyweds cut their wedding cake and enjoyed their first dance together as husband and wife.
It was a beautiful day, and I wish Jodie and Nik all the very best for long, healthy and happy lives together.
PS – Although I have gone heavy on the amount of black and white edited shots in this blog, rest assured you do get everything I edit in colour as well! I just happened to REALLY like the black and whites from this wedding! 🙂

While every wedding is different, there are certain elements which are usually broadly similar. Take a look at a typical wedding day to get a feel for the primarily documentary wedding photography style I’m likely to employ for your big day.
There’s much more work involved in photographing a wedding than just rocking up and taking the pictures. I’ve put together this guide to explain why wedding photography can seem expensive but it’s really not.
I’ve also put together this wedding photography FAQ list and my responses – Questions you should ask a wedding photographer!
