Chelsea & Alan were married in a gorgeous ceremony at the newly-licensed Raunds Town Hall Council Chamber, Northants, on Saturday, 10th June 2017. I was honoured to be booked to provide my wedding photography services.
The Raunds Town Hall Council Chamber was refurbished in 2016 and is now available for civil ceremonies and partnerships for up to 50 guests. At the top of the driveway is Saxon Hall, a modern three-hall facility that is perfect as a wedding reception venue.
It was also the location where Chelsea would get ready, and she was already in her dress by the time I arrived. It was a perfect sunny day, save for a rather stiff wind. I joined the Bride and her entourage as they made the short walk down the hill to the Council Chamber.
Wedding Ceremony – Raunds Town Hall Council Chamber, Northants
The quality of the workmanship employed in the restoration of the Council Chamber is of an extremely high standard; it looks superb. Chelsea & Alan’s wedding was the first to be staged at the venue for members of the public (they had already held a ceremony for a member of staff).
The room was packed as the happy couple exchanged their vows during a gorgeous ceremony.
At its conclusion we headed out to the grassed area, where drinks and canapes were taken before we made a start on the group shots. The layout of the site offers plenty of options, including steps and a natural foliage archway. The strong wind was definitely not in our favour here, though!
Wedding Breakfast – Saxon Hall, Raunds, Northants
With further guest arrivals, it was time to head up to Saxon Hall and get the real party started.
Chelsea and her team had done a great job in decorating the rooms they would use for the wedding breakfast and reception. A vast array of cakes and sweet treats lined a table in the central room.
Through the double doors lay a patio area with toys and games for the children, and beyond that a grassed area. A picture frame had even been hung from the trees for use as a photo prop.
Fantastic smells emanated from one corner of the patio area, where the non-standard wedding breakfast was being prepared. Chelsea and Alan had opted for a taste of the Caribbean, and it was delicious!
I whisked the happy couple away for a few shots of just the two of them.
And then it was time for the speeches – including one particularly amusing revelation!
Shortly after, the cake was cut and Chelsea & Alan enjoyed their First Dance as Husband and Wife.
It really was a lovely day, and I wish the new Mr & Mrs Smith every happiness in their lives together.
