Jenny & Dean were married in a gorgeous ceremony at the Queens Head Inn, Nassington, Northants, on Friday, 16th September 2016. I was honoured to be booked as their Queens Head, Nassington, wedding photographer.
Bridal Preparations – Family Home, Thrapston, Northants
The morning of Jenny & Dean’s wedding was pretty grim, with heavy rain dominating proceedings. Fortunately the couple would not be married until early-afternoon, by which time the forecast suggested an improving picture.
Unfortunately for Jenny, she lost one of her bridesmaids in the final few hours before her wedding. Carly, who was intending to fulfill the role ended up giving birth instead! Thankfully, Jenny had an able deputy waiting in the wings in the shape of Emma, whose own wedding I’d photographed just three weeks earlier.
It was still raining by the time the bridal party was ready to head off to the venue, but even that couldn’t dampen Jenny’s spirits! They were to be transported to The Queens Head in two stunning classic Jaguar cars.
Wedding Ceremony – The Queens Head Inn, Nassington, Northants
The ceremony itself was a beautiful affair, with the couple’s son, Max, playing a slightly more active part than had originally been intended!
As predicted, the clouds had finally started to part in the distance at the conclusion of the ceremony. Dean, in particular, was keen on the idea of heading off in one of the cars to get some pictures. We decided on the river at Fotheringhay, a village with an intense connection to the wedding venue. In 1587 Mary, Queen of Scots, was tried and beheaded in Fotheringhay Castle, only a very small portion of which is still standing.
The Queens Head Inn is also blessed with a stunning outdoor garden leading down onto the banks of the River Nene. This provided the perfect backdrop to the group pictures.
Wedding Breakfast & Reception – The Queens Head Inn, Nassington, Northants
A superb three-course Wedding Breakfast was served to guests.
The wedding cake was one of the most spectacular and intricate I’ve seen. The more incredible part about that is that it was produced by an amateur baker! Clearly someone is missing her calling!
Jenny & Dean enjoyed their first dance together as husband and wife, and later their was a fully-committed rendition by Jenny and her hen party of Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Very best wishes to the new Mr & Mrs Williams.
